Today, we’re kicking off Asexual Awareness Week!
Asexual individuals often face stereotypes like being “cold,” “inexperienced,” or “just not having met the right person.” These myths are far from reality. Asexuality is a valid sexual orientation that doesn’t depend on experience or partnership.
Everyone has the right to their own identity and feelings, and it’s important to recognize that asexuality is not something to “fix” or “change.”
Throughout Asexual Awareness Week, let’s remember that learning about asexuality is a step toward understanding and breaking down stigma. At the Tuzla Open Center, we stand with the asexual community and work towards a world where everyone can be visible and accepted as they are.
This event is supported by the Core Grant of the regional project SMART Balkan – Civil Society for a Connected Western Balkans, implemented by the Center for Civil Society Promotion (CPCD) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM) in North Macedonia, and the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) in Albania, with financial support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
