Did you know? 🌈
October is LGBTI+ History Month!
This month has been celebrated since 1994, when Professor Rodney Wilson from the USA initiated it to raise awareness of the history and contributions of LGBTI+ individuals. October was chosen because it also marks National Coming Out Day.
Although it is most commonly celebrated in the United States and the United Kingdom, the Tuzla Open Center takes this opportunity to promote education, diversity, and support for LGBTI+ equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We proudly remember the important figures and events that have shaped the history of the LGBTI+ movement, and together we build a more inclusive future for all.
This activity is supported by a Core grant from the regional project SMART Balkan – Civil Society for a Connected Western Balkans, implemented by the Center for Promotion of Civil Society (CPCD) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM) in North Macedonia, and Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) in Albania, with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.
