Publication: "Gender inequality on electoral lists in Tuzla Canton - Elections 2022"

The Tuzla Open Center conducted research entitled: "(Gender inequality on the electoral lists in the Tuzla Canton - Elections 2022). This detailed research is the result of several months of research into international and domestic legal frameworks and mechanisms for ensuring gender equality, as well as an analysis of electoral lists from the General Elections in Tuzla Canton held in 2022.


The publication focuses on the analysis of the representation of women in the political life of Tuzla Canton and the behavior of political subjects in the context of gender equality. Special attention is paid to the situation in which legal norms do not foresee mandatory standards for gender equality, investigating how this affects the representation of women on electoral lists and in political structures.


The goal of the research is to provide an insight into the real picture of gender equality on electoral lists and to offer recommendations for improving the inclusion of women in political life. The publication offers a comprehensive overview of the current situation and the identification of key challenges that arise in the process of ensuring gender balance.
