Publication: "(In)equality of the sexes on electoral lists in the City of Tuzla - Elections 2020 and 2024"

The Tuzla Open Center conducted research entitled "(Gender inequality on electoral lists in the City of Tuzla - Elections 2020 and 2024). This publication is the result of extensive research into international and domestic legal frameworks and mechanisms for ensuring gender equality, as well as an analysis of electoral lists from the Local Elections in the City of Tuzla from 2020 and 2024.

This publication examines the extent to which women are represented in the political life of the City of Tuzla, with a special focus on the behavior of political subjects in the context of the absence of legal norms regulating gender balance. The analysis covers how changes in electoral lists between two election cycles affect gender equality and the identification of key challenges and gaps in the integration of women into political structures.

The publication focuses on the actual state of representation of women on electoral lists and provides an insight into how political entities respond to challenges related to gender equality when legal norms are not binding on them. It also offers recommendations for improving the inclusion of women in political processes and strengthening gender equality in the City of Tuzla.
