The Tuzla Open Center (TOC) presents the results of the Public Call for submitting proposals for the name of the Queer Art and Activism Festival in Tuzla.

The deadline for announcing the results was postponed due to the large number of submissions received. Given the exceptionally high response, the selection process took longer, as it was important for us to approach each proposal individually and with care in order to make a well-informed final decision.
We are very pleased to share that a total of 99 name proposals were submitted in response to this call. This level of engagement genuinely delighted us, as it shows that the community recognizes the importance of this festival and is eager to actively participate in its creation.
The submitted proposals were highly creative, diverse, and thoughtful, and many of them reflected—each in their own way—the values the festival aims to promote: freedom of expression, art as a space of resistance and connection, and a strong bond with the local community and Tuzla as a city of openness and solidarity.
After reviewing all submitted proposals, in accordance with the criteria outlined in the public call, the Tuzla Open Center has decided that the selected name of the festival will be:
RahatluQ Fest
The winner is: Ajla Masovic.
The selected proposal received a total of 78.5 points during the evaluation by a committee of six members. The original name was “U Rahatluq,” but the committee modified it to “RahatluQ Fest.” The name was recognized as the proposal that most effectively reflects the values of the future festival, its artistic and activist dimensions, as well as its potential to become a recognizable festival identity.
As stated in the public call, the author(s) of the selected proposal will be awarded a symbolic fee of 100 BAM (net). The author(s) will be contacted via email and phone to arrange the payment.
Once again, we would like to thank everyone who submitted their proposals and contributed to the creation of a new space for queer art and activism in Tuzla. We are especially pleased that the festival is emerging through the ideas and energy of the community.
In the coming period, we will be working on developing the festival’s visual identity, program concept, and preparations for its first edition. The public will be informed in a timely manner through the official channels of the Tuzla Open Center.
