Transgender Day of Remembrance

Today we observe Transgender Day of Remembrance.

This day is commemorated worldwide to honor trans people who tragically lost their lives to transphobia and violence. Established in 1999, Transgender Day of Remembrance raises awareness of brutal hate crimes against the trans community and strengthens our resolve to fight violence, prejudice, and injustice.

For us at Tuzla Open Center, this day holds special significance. It reminds us of the need to create safe spaces for all LGBTI+ individuals to live freely without fear for their lives or identities. Our center continues to offer support, security, and education, working toward a more inclusive society where everyone can live with dignity.

We remember all lives lost, stand with the trans community, and continue the fight against transphobia. Tuzla Open Center is a safe place for all LGBTI+ individuals. If you need support, reach out to us! We offer free psychotherapy, peer counseling, support groups, and more.

Supported by the Core Grant of the SMART Balkan project by CPCD BiH, CRPM North Macedonia, and IDM Albania, with funding from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
